quite content to leave it in our hands whether or
not it was possible to make any suggestion to the
authorities in Hong Kong. If we did, he so said
that he hoped it would be possible for the title
of the fund to be altered from "The Brewin Charity"
to some more general style, such as "Workmen's and
Dependants' Relief Fund". In any case he would
like to see a few words added to the heading of
financial account

I can see no harm in our writing semi-
officially to Mr. N. L. Smith to explain Mr. Brewin's
representations and possibly the best way would be
to send him a copy of the above minute of the
interview, and ask if some consideration could be
given to Mr. Brewin's views, and if he could let
us know what, if anything, could be done on the
lines he has suggested.
